Official Statement Regarding Holly’s Heating Oil Delivery to Standish, Maine on January 18 , 2013:
On January 18 , 2013, during a snow storm, Holly’s attempted to deliver fuel to this customers living in Standish, Maine. As a result of the inclement weather and bad road and driveway conditions, our driver was unable to make the delivery. The customer later called our office and said he was completely out of heating fuel and he had a two year old child at the house. Sensitive to the customer’s needs and situation, Holly’s then sent another truck driven by one of our most experienced drivers to attempt delivery. While we were able to deliver heating oil to this customer in need, our driver got stuck in a ditch due to continually deteriorating weather and road conditions. As a result of getting stuck, a small amount of fuel spilled from the overfill drain on the tank. This small spill was contained by the driver with help from the female at the residence. The DEP was on the scene and cleared the area. For further information, please see DEP Spill Report # P-50-2013. No one was hurt, and Holly’s has already taken all appropriate steps including notifying the property owner. Holly’s apologizes for any inconvenience this incident may have caused to the property owner or his tenants.
